Shobha Talent and Cultural Centre, popularly known as STCC, has classes for everyone! Whether you are looking for recreational fun, or a place to dedicate yourself to the arts, STCC Programs are designed to suit your needs.
STCC was a vision brought to life by Artistic Director and founder Shobha Maraj Maeck. Shobha was born and raised in Guyana and learned the art of dance from the late Pandit Durgalall at the Indian Cultural Centre in Georgetown. When Shobha moved to Pickering, she found there was a void for Indian music & dance in after putting together numerous programs at the Devi Mandir, Shobha started teaching at Devi Mandir, in Toronto and the surrounding GTA.
Shobha was featured on many platforms for her art and is always working with charitable organizations, religious groups, conferences and children groups, teaching dance.
For Years Shobha has used her strong base of classical dance experience to explore, choreograph and teach a variety of dance styles including Kathak, Bollywood, Semi-Classical as well as other world rhythms
